AECOM secures PMC contract for NEOM Bay Phase 1


Global infrastructure services firm AECOM has been awarded a multi-year contract to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for Phase 1 as part of NEOM Bay. One of the most ambitious mega-projects ever contemplated, NEOM Bay is being developed in North West Saudi Arabia within the NEOM Zone.

Located in the country’s far north-west at the intersection with Jordan and Egypt, NEOM will be an special economic zone and diverse society offering world-class education, healthcare and culture, purpose built for a new way of living. All aspects of NEOM’s planning and delivery will embrace innovation and technology to ensure that ‘the land of the future’ is a place where the greatest minds and best talents are empowered to embody pioneering ideas and exceed boundaries.

The NEOM Zone comprises more than 26,000 square kilometers. AECOM has been contracted to provide a full suite of services to support the delivery of Phase 1 as part of NEOM Bay, a 45-square kilometer area located within NEOM Bay. AECOM’s scope includes project management, contract administration, technical and environmental support services, and site supervision over the entire design and construction phases of the project.

NEOM Bay Phase 1 is intended to be the first showcase of the NEOM vision to the world. When complete, NEOM Bay Phase 1 will comprise several thousand residential units, leisure, retail, commercial, public and entertainment facilities with supporting infrastructure and utilities.
