The Department of Economic Development – Ajman (DED-Ajman) revealed the signing of a strategic new cooperation agreement with Ajman Free Zone, to integrate and promote joint cooperation mechanisms on the unified commercial register and market control, through electronic connectivity and the strengthening of communication channels between the two sides.
The agreement was signed by H.E Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department of Economic Development – Ajman and H.E Fatima Mohammed Salem, Acting Director General of the Free Zone, who affirmed that the agreement comes within their mutual ambition to achieve the emirate objectives in the economic and investment fields, by establishing an effective partnership between the department and the free zone, through the coordination of joint work fields for the benefit of investors and consumers.
H.E Ali Issa Al Nuaimi said: “Based on our willingness to strengthen strategic partnerships with various entities in the emirate that share our vision of collective cooperation with the Ajman Free Zone, we have agreed to develop joint mechanisms for the commercial name reservation services and to develop a unified commercial register for all economic establishments in the emirate, In addition, we are committed to identifying mechanisms for receiving complaints, consumer protection and intellectual property protection, and carrying out joint awareness campaigns for the free zone facilities. Ultimately, the aim of these mechanisms is to take advantage of the existing eligibility, and exchange experiences and knowledge in the field of investment promotion, so that we can enhance the emirate’s position on the business map in the region.”
H.E. Fatima Mohammed Salem reaffirmed the importance of the convention, adding: “The agreement places a stronger emphasis on the importance of achieving the general objectives of the State, and the Emirate of Ajman in particular, in the fields of trade and investment. The Free Zone will provide the necessary data and statistics to facilitate joint cooperation and achieve the objectives of the convention. The cooperation also includes the exchange of data on the unified commercial register and the activation of the reservation of trade names and other services aimed at facilitating the business sector in the emirate. As a result, economic development and the objectives of the Ajman Vision 2021 will be achieved whilst presenting benefits to the business sector.”
