Dubai Land Department (DLD), through its regulatory arm, the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) announced that Emicool, the leading district cooling service provider in the region and wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, and Union Properties – the master developer of the Motor City project, have reached an agreement in regards to the disruption of air conditioning services at the public facilities of Motor City.
A meeting was headed by His Excellency Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO of the RERA, the regulatory arm of Dubai Land Department (DLD); Dr Adib Moubadder, CEO of Emicool, Thani Saeed Essa Alfalasi, Chief Audit & Legal Officer at Emicool; and Ahmed Khouri, Managing Director, Union Properties. An agreement was reached between both parties to abide by their responbilities where Union Properties will guarantee payments to Emicool following a reschedule of the payments in partnership with Owners Association (EDACOM) and Emicool to immediately restore air conditioning services to the public facilities, recreational buildings and gyms at the project.
Bin Ghalita said, “We at DLD, are keen to establish a safe and transparent real estate environment that guarantees the rights of all parties and contributes to enhancing the attractiveness of our real estate market. We were quick to respond and resolve the matter between Emicool and Union Properties as we wholly support the vision of the wise leadership that aims to make Dubai the premier choice for investment, work, and living, and we encourage everyone from developers, investors and service providers to cooperate, coordinate, and reach common grounds in the accomplishment of these goals.”
Dr. Moubadder expressed his gratitude to RERA and the pivotal role it played in reaching this agreement, adding: “Emicool has a proven track record of delivering premium services to some of Dubai’s largest projects by prioritising the comfort and happiness of residents through ensuring around-the-clock exceptional and continuous service. The company was also keen to keep its air conditioning services operational at the project’s residential units, emphasising its efforts in ensuring that its customers receive the best possible care.”
Union Properties expressed its gratitude for the role of the RERA and a spokesperson said: “We are delighted to continue the ongoing partnership with RERA and to progress upon the existing relationship to face any potential challenges in the future. We also appreciate Emicool’s cooperation in resolving this matter and we look forward to the resuming of air conditioning services immediately. This confirms our commitment in ensuring the comfort of residents at the project, and enjoy the services available across its facilities and we will work closely with the EDACOM to assure its optimal performance.
