Spanish construction giant Grupo ACS has won a EUR 235mn (AED 967mn) contract to build an industrial waste treatment plant in Abu Dhabi.
The deal was signed between ACS unit Intecsa and Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer), a subsidiary of Adnoc, the Spanish company announced today.
Work on the plant is expected to start early June and take 39 months. Intecsa will engineer, procure and test the plant that will process waste from various Adnoc subsidiaries.
The plant will be located in the industrial zone of Ruwais, around 250km west of Abu Dhabi.
This is the fourth such project that Intecsa has carried out for Adnoc.
