A fire broke out at a luxury tower under construction in Dubais Jumeirah Village Circle on Saturday.
The blaze started at around 2pm and it took firefighters several hours to bring the flames under control, reports say. There were no injuries reported.
Eyewitnesses said the fire started at the top of the building and quickly spread to lower floors.
Dubai-based real estate and hospitality group SKAI Holdings is building the 60 storey Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village tower which will comprise 254 serviced apartments and 247 hotel guest rooms.
The company clinched the Tall Buildings prize at this years Architectural Review MIPIM Future Projects Awards in April for the design of the Viceroy Jumeirah Village, pipping 25 other global projects including Saudi Arabias Kingdom Tower, and Londons Mile High Tower, to the prize.
Images shared on social media showed that China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Middle East), the main contractor, had built around 20 of the floors and the AED 1.37bn ($370mn) tower was due to complete in late 2017.
SKAI Holdings could not be reached for comment at the time of writing.
UAE authorities are currently drafting a revised fire safety code in the wake of a series of fires at high rise towers over the past three years.
The blaze follows little more than two weeks after residents had to be evacuated during a fire at the 75 storey Sulafa Tower in Dubai Marina.
