Malek Sukkar has been CEO of Averda since 2000 and since then has led Averda’s expansion from a single country entity to a multinational company. He has driven its transformation from a street cleaning and waste collection business to an end-to-end waste management solutions provider, operating recycling and waste-to-energy facilities, and hazardous waste management operations, in addition to cleaning and collection. Averda believes it is crucial to embrace recycling practices and infrastructure in order to reduce further harm to the ecosystem and make the best use of existing resources. A central focus for the company is to help build a new generation of recycling infrastructure, reducing waste sent to landfill. Sustainability is central to Malek’s vision for Averda’s future.
