The developer of Global Village and Miracle Garden plans to build a $300mn shopping mall in Dubailand with a botanical garden as its main attraction.
Cityland Group expects to draw 12 million visitors per year to the single-level Cityland Mall which is scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2018.
The mall will have 1.13 million sq ft of leasable space and consist of six themed zones each displaying a distinct global culture. There will be 350 retail stores, 75 global dining options, a cinema with up to 16 screens and shaded parking space for over 6,000 cars.
Cityland Group hopes to add three hotels at a later stage and is also drawing up plans to replicate the mall concept in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain after the much-awaited inauguration in Dubai.
The 200,000 sq.ft. open-air garden, labelled Central Park, will include a mini version of Miracle Garden, a mini water park, 300-year old ancient tree garden, Japanese garden, 360-degree rooftop garden, and a cluster of restaurants and al fresco cafés.
