The Transport General Authority (TGA) and the Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) signed a memorandum of understanding to prepare the legislative and regulatory environment for land, sea and rail transport activities in the Red Sea region.
The memorandum was signed by H.E Rumaih AlRumaih, President of TGA, and John Pagano, CEO of TRSDC at TGA’s headquarter in Riyadh.
On this occasion, H.E. Rumaih AlRumaih, President of TGA, said: “We are proud of our strategic partnership with the Red Sea Development Company, and we look forward through this cooperation and joint work to develop the land, sea and rail transport sectors in the Red Sea region, and to create a legislative and regulatory environment to provide services according to the best standards and global models, and by the use and employment of modern technology in a manner that ensures the upgrading of the transport quality and options in our future interface in the Red Sea.”
H.E. AlRumaih also stressed that this agreement will support the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services in developing services, improving the experience of beneficiaries, and contributing to raising the quality of life in the cities and regions of the Kingdom, by developing opportunities for innovation and technical cooperation, enhancing investment, and keeping pace with the latest global developments in the transport industry and in line with the Kingdom’s economic and social development goals.
For his part, John Pagano, CEO of The Red Sea Development Company, said: “We aim to connect the Red Sea destination in the best possible way; accordingly, we have built a road network of 80 km in the destination, and we will use a fleet of smart vehicles that support our ambitious goals of sustainability in land, sea, and air transport.”
This memorandum of understanding will contribute to the adoption of future and modern technology in the fields of transport, will allow the two parties to exchange scientific studies and practical experiences, hold workshops related to all modern means of transport in mobility services, work to provide an appropriate environment for investors in the field of transport and logistics, cooperate in new and smart mobility, and work to achieve the desired results and objectives of this partnership.
