Law firm Beale & Company has started the New Year with a number of changes to its construction team in Dubai which will significantly strengthen its capability in the Middle East.
Claire Miller was promoted to Partner on 1st January 2017 while John Sheils has been appointed as a consultant and Natalie Ledger has transferred to Dubai from the London office.
Miller joined Beales’ London office in 2010 from the well-respected construction law practice, Shadbolt LLP, and transferred to the Dubai office in December 2015.
She has been instrumental in the continuing success of the Dubai practice and has over 10 years experience specialising in construction law and has advised extensively on disputes arising out of major international infrastructure projects.
John Sheils has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years and has specialised in international construction disputes for approximately 25 years. He spent 11 years advising on a wide variety of construction matters in the construction practice of Shadbolt LLP where he became a partner in 2006. He practised as a partner in Beale & Company’s Dublin office in 2009 before leaving to extend his international experience.
He has spent the last 4-5 years working on high-value construction arbitrations in the UAE and South Africa. He re-joined Beales to work in the Dubai office in December 2016.
Natalie trained and qualified at the Firm’s London office. Prior to joining Beales, Natalie gained 6 years’ legal experience in Dubai, including 2 years’ international arbitration experience in the construction and projects department of Clyde & Co (Dubai).
Having spent a significant amount of her time in London working on construction-related claims in the UAE, Natalie re-located back to the Dubai office in December 2016.
