Drydocks World, a DP World company and a leading global provider of maritime services has successfully held three workshops that foster growth and innovation in the marine industry. Held at the Dubai Creative Center, the Drydocks World Youth Circle workshops focused on the ‘Future of the Maritime Industry’, ‘Leadership Journey’, and ‘Carbon Reduction’.
Carbon Reduction Workshop
Drydocks World and DP World partnered to organise the “Carbon Reduction Workshop”. They were conducted by Maryam Alqaydi, Abdulla Saeed Alkhoori, and Ahmed AlZeqri, DP World Group Manager – Carbon Reduction, which showcased the importance of low-carbon building practices and explored the efforts of DP World and Drydocks World in developing Carbon Removal Technologies.
The session also focused on innovation beyond the marine sector and encouraged participants to engage in interactive sessions that applied practical solutions to tackle real-world problems.
The ‘Youth Circle – Future of the Maritime Industry’ was an opportunity to discuss the current state of the marine industry, identifying challenges and opportunities ahead. Strategies to overcome these obstacles were explored, emphasising sustainable initiatives and technological advancements, including ship operations and maintenance automation.
The Youth Circle also sheds light on recent developments and strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of drydocking processes. The workshop also addressed the importance of upskilling to enable the industry’s growth, focusing on talent acquisition, skills development, diversity, and workforce retention.
Leadership Journey Workshop
Running from August 1st to August 3rd, the “Leadership Journey Workshop” aimed to provide young individuals with a comprehensive understanding of leadership and its distinction from management. The programme covered various leadership skills, including time management, team building, active listening, decision-making, communication, and self-awareness.
Participants engaged in practical exercises and interactive sessions, equipping them with the tools to become influential and inspiring leaders in their respective fields.
All three workshops encouraged active participation from the audience, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
