This agreement aligns with an ambitious plan, as directed by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, aimed at positioning Egypt as a regional hub for transportation, logistics, and transit trade, stated the minister.
Egypt‘s Minister of Transport, Kamal Wazir, observed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday, April 18, 2024, regarding constructing, developing, operating, managing, and maintaining Berenice Port.
Wazir emphasized that Berenice Port will play a pivotal role in enhancing trade between Upper Egypt and African nations, thereby bolstering both exports and imports.
Furthermore, the memorandum underscores the intention to increase the involvement of the private sector in projects under the purview of the Ministry of Transport.
