AECOM’s multi-award-winning MEP team has been active in the Middle East since 1948, delivering some of the region’s most transformative projects. AECOM has extensive expertise in providing practical and technically superior MEP solutions, especially for intricate challenges.

Their leadership team, comprising Technical Directors Srinivas Reddy and Jonathan Roberts, has over 30 years of design experience in the Middle East. Srinivas was recently awarded MEP Leader of the Year at the CBNME MEP Awards 2025, showcasing his expert position in the industry. Together, they inspire a team of chartered professional engineers and technology specialists in sustainability, acoustics, fire life safety, and digital design.

AECOM is known for leveraging cutting-edge digital tools to revolutionise MEP design. Through Revitzo’s real-time clash detection and proprietary software for precision calculations, they achieve optimal system sizing and performance. Daily BIM health checks ensure data integrity while computational design software such as StabiCAD and Trimble Amtech streamline mechanical and electrical analyses. Implementing Co-Pilot and Smart Annotation has reduced documentation time by 40%, and BIM Logic automates standards compliance. This digital ecosystem enables comprehensive model validation, automated quantity take-offs and efficient collaboration, resulting in 35% faster delivery, 50% fewer coordination issues and 90% first-time clash detection accuracy.

The team is dedicated to shaping the future of the MEP industry by cultivating not only the next generation of leaders but also ensuring current talent, no matter their experience level, has a chance to evolve. Through the graduate training program, AECOM is committed to nurturing, training, and developing fresh graduates wanting to make their mark in the industry. Many graduates in the last 12 months have been promoted to fully-fledged engineers.

ED&I is at the top of the hiring agenda, as it should be. With the current team standing at 10% female, specific mentoring programs have been established to identify high-potential female talent for senior positions. The graduate program has attracted more women year-on-year. Managers are also encouraged to take unconscious bias training to ensure everyone is considered. AECOM’s commitment to workplace satisfaction has resulted in 95% retention rates in the last 12 months.

AECOM’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its astute ESG framework. They implement circular economy principles, optimise resource use and integrate sophisticated controls and on-site generation capabilities. With the team focused on carbon-positive solutions, they target reduced embodied carbon across all systems. They also explore low-energy passive cooling solutions and innovative reuse strategies, transforming client aspirations into tangible environmental benefits. In addition, their innovative designs focus on achieving average energy savings that exceed ASHRAE baselines.

Over the last year, AECOM has secured significant projects in the UAE and KSA, and their financial metrics indicate a healthy workload with notable project wins and pipeline work. Strong synergies between their construction supervision team and the building’s MEP team give them an advantage in securing projects on critical construction milestones, showcasing how a multi-discipline approach can enhance outcomes.
