UAE-based contractor, ASGC, has announced that Paul Woodman has officially joined the firm in the role of managing director for ASGC UK.
Woodman has significant experience in working with organisations in both the UK and the Gulf. Most recently, this includes spending seven years as MD of the Kier Group in the Middle East. Prior to that, he held several senior positions with Carillion International in the UK and Al Futtaim Carillion in the UAE.
The business unit of ASGC UK was originally incorporated in November 2015 and has since worked on two fronts; to source UK-based construction suppliers that can support ASGCs projects within the UAE, and to enhance ASGCs ability to provide funding to customers and projects that qualify for UKEF support.
In his new role with ASGC UK, Woodman will oversee relationships with UAE-based customers who are seeking UKEF-supported financing for their forthcoming projects, while also expanding the businesss activities into the wider GCC and select markets in Africa.
Bishoy Azmy, CEO of ASGC, said: With his extensive experience both in the region and in the UK, Paul was the ideal choice to head up our UK division. We welcome him on board and look forward to his contribution in further strengthening ASGCs relationship with partners in the UK, the UAE and beyond.
Speaking on his appointment, Woodman added: In recent years, ASGC has demonstrated that it can consistently offer great value to its clients, not only by providing the certainty of delivery that they are seeking for their projects but also by introducing new and innovative ways of working and developing bespoke solutions that meet their needs. It is an honour for me to join the ASGC family and I look forward to helping the Group further enhance its reputation for excellence, reliability and customer focus.
