Dubai-based Drydocks World, a global provider of maritime and offshore services, won the Shipyard/Ship Repair yard of the Year award at The 4th Annual Maritime Standard Awards ceremony held in Dubai, UAE.
Drydocks World won the accolade due to its newbuilding, repair, and conversion projects through which it outperformed other rivals in the region, said a statement from the company.
The company is the largest and most comprehensive shipyard offering ship repair, up-gradation of rigs and offshore units, conversion of FPSO/FSO/FSRU, and new building of vessels and offshore structures, between Europe and the Far East.
Drydocks World has completed 83 new building and offshore fabrication projects and five projects are currently being executed. The yard has also completed 31 conversion projects and has repaired more than 8,402 ship repair projects. Further, the yard has a well-established reputation in the rig repair, refit and refurbishment segment, with extensive experience on drilling and jack-up units.
As a part of its transformation, the yard has introduced a rig refurbishment department to facilitate the major rig operators that closely works with the customers to understand their requirements and provide the best services.
