Elevator and escalator industry, Kone Corporation, has won the order to supply 23 elevators for the WOW Hotel and Hotel Apartments in Dubai.
Situated in Dubais Business Bay, the tower consists of 76 floors and reaches the height of 323m. The development, being designed by Aedas Architects for WOW Investment, is expected to be completed by 2020.
On completion, the $52mn Wow Hotel and Hotel Apartments Project will house 946 units with views of Burj Khalifa, hotel suites, and rental apartments. The hotel suites, restaurants, pools, and apartments are located on the 58th and 74th floors, the highest section of the hotel.
As per the deal, Kone will be equipping the development with 16 MiniSpace elevators and seven MonoSpace elevators. Additionally, the company will deliver two loading bay area elevators and three disabled access platform elevators.
On the win, Pierre Liautaud, executive vice president for Kone South Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “The supply of hotel rooms and hotel apartments in Dubai is expected to reach 134,000 by the end of 2018. The order was booked in the third quarter of 2017.
