HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and chairman of Dubai Municipality, has approved the construction of Al Barsha Community Centre in Al Barsha 2 area.
The community centre, which is being established with the joint cooperation between Dubai Municipality and the Community Development Authority (CDA), will be ready by mid-2019. It will be built on an area of 5,500sqm of land with 14,500sqm built-up space, at a total cost of AED60mn, said Eng Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality.
He said that the project comes within the framework of the efforts of the Government of Dubai to secure the basic service facilities of the government departments and provide high-efficiency services to the residential areas.
The building, with a basement, ground floor, and two upper floors, will be located in the service area allocated to the residential area for nationals in Al Barsha. The basement parking will be able to accommodate 108 cars, while the ground floor will contain a reception counter, a multi-purpose hall, which can be divided into five small halls, a 100-seat theatre, a gallery, separate prayer rooms, and a separate service entrance with all the required facilities.
The first floor will comprise areas for practicing hobbies such as painting, clay modeling and handcrafts, classes for learning cooking and music, a library with childrens section for them to learn drawing, reading and computer. The second floor will accommodate a sports area with related service facilities, separate toilets, swimming pools and gyms for men and women, a lounge for electronic games, a cafeteria, and administrative offices for the staff.
