The Kuwait government is likely to award contracts for its Fahaheel Expressway (Road No 30) project by the fourth quarter of 2020 once the feasibility study and design phases on the mega-development are completed.
A major infrastructure project for the country, the Fahaheel Expressway (Road No 30), leads southwards out of Kuwait city towards the Saudi Arabian border, reported Kuwait Times, citing a senior minister.
The highways 30 and 40, which run parallel to each other, cater to the residential areas of Mahboula, Ahmadi and Fintas by providing access to Kuwait City. Later, the roads join and head towards to Saudi Arabia and also Bahrain.
“The project is still in the early stages of the feasibility study and is expected to be ready by the end of next year,” said Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Municipal Affairs, Hussam Al Roumi. “The study and design phases are likely to get completed by August 2020. Once this is done, we will start procedures for the awarding of tenders and the project will kick off in April the following year.”
