Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) achieved a series of remarkable financial results in the first nine months of 2020 in comparison to the same period in 2019 including: trade amounting to Dhs87.4 billion, contributing 10% to Dubai’s trade and a trade surplus amounting to Dhs10.6 billion. Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) awarded the contract for the operation and maintenance of the Dubai Metro as well as the operation of the Dubai Tram to a consortium of three companies – Keolis, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering, and Mitsubishi Corporation The Dhs542 million per annum contract covers 15 years (nine base years and six renewable years). Bahrain International Airport (BIA) handled 300, 205 tonnes of cargo in 2020, a 3.1% jump compared to the previous year, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) announced. Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department in Sharjah revealed that the volume of real estate transactions in the emirate reached 1,818 transactions with a value of Dhs3.5 billion in February 2021, WAM reported Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Department, explained that the number of sales transactions in the emirate amounted to 457, which accounted for 25.1% of the total number, while the number of mortgage transactions reached 244, which represented 13.4% of the total number.
