The UAE made history on Tuesday evening, 9 February, as the first Arab nation, and the fifth in the world, to reach Mars after the Hope Probe successfully entered the Red Planet’s orbit on, at 7:42pm. Intertek has launched a new in-country service for fire testing and certification of building products in Saudi Arabia, to support the increasing demand for fire resistance testing from customers in the region. The inspection, product testing and certification company is the first certification body to offer end-to-end fire resistance testing and certification of building materials in Saudi Arabia. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started a widespread campaign to administer COVID-19 vaccination to its people, including taxi and bus drivers, metro, and tram staff as well as their family members. The programme is expected to cover about 30,000 staff including frontliners involved in combating COVID-19.
