ACES-Amman has recently completed the site investigation for Al-Attarat Oil Shale Power Plant Project, which will be the first and the largest oil shale fired power plant in Jordan. The project will involve the construction of two generators, each with a capacity of 235 MW, that will run oil shale produced in attarat area, central Jordan. The geotechnical investigation includes drilling 183 boreholes, 22 test pits, field testing, performing an intensive laboratory testing, and preparing interpretative geotechnical report.
