Al Maryah Island’s master developer, Mubadala Real Estate and Infrastructure, announced the successful opening of two new bridges on the island. The bridges links the island to Hamdan bin Mohammed Street on Abu Dhabi Island in the west, and to Al Reem Island in the east. Al Maryah Island already has four existing bridges located in its southern part. The next phase of construction of Al Maryah Island’s waterfront Promenade is scheduled to begin by Q3 2016. Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif revealed the construction of the country’s first shale oil power plant will begin in June 2016, according to Jordon News Agency. The $2.2bn project will generate electricity through direct combustion of shale oil. It will have the capacity of 470MW. In a press statement, Saif said that the Estonian-Malaysian-Chinese consortium is in the last stage of financial closure. Dubai Properties Group unveiled the masterplan of Serena, a residential development within Dubailand, on 21 February 2016.
