UAE-based solar photovoltaic integrator, Enviromena Power Systems and Spanish EPC contractor TSK Group have been awarded a contract to build 103MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Jordan. The $128m solar plant, located in Al Quweira, will be funded by Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through a grant from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. Abu Dhabi Airports awarded contracts to Aer Rianta International (ARI) and Lagardère Capital, to provide Duty Free concessions in the Midfield Terminal Building (MTB). ARI, an airport retail management company, will design and operate Duty Free space dedicated to perfumes, cosmetics, skincare, sunglasses and jewelry. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received 21 requests for qualification (RFQs) from international energy companies and consortia for the 800MW third project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The design of the project is based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. The second project was inaugurated earlier this year and will be operational in April 2017.
