Mariam Azmy, Chief People Officer at Innovo, shares insights on redefining workplace experiences and fostering a more engaging, fulfilling, and dynamic professional environment
As an industry modernising and redefining how people engage with the built environment, our sector’s continued success depends on our ability to attract, retain, and develop a dedicated employee base. People are key. I believe people are central to achieving all our industry’s strategic ambitions.
By our people, for our people
Given the importance we place on talent, we at Innovo must continually develop the employment package we offer to our people. As Chief People Officer, I’m proud to say we are committed to doing just that.
Take our Dubai office, for example. Located in Dubai Hills, we’ve recently undertaken a major renovation scheme to overhaul our working environment. This includes the creation of agile workspaces, relaxed and inviting communal areas, and a coffee shop-style courtyard built to the highest specifications.

Our new space also boasts three wellbeing areas: a movement room with the latest gym equipment, a yoga studio offering live and on-demand classes, and a sensory space where people can relax and reboot in a private room designed to mimic nature and provide calm and serenity.
We want to create a workplace where our employees feel valued and have access to facilities that will improve their daily lives. We incorporate the same thoughtful use of space into all our projects—just this time, it’s designed by our people, for our people.
Innovation in people
As our name suggests, innovation is embedded in everything we do at Innovo, and that extends to innovation in people.
In the competitive markets in which we operate, if we want to attract the best talent, we must be an employer of choice. Therefore, our employee value proposition is more than just an afterthought—it’s a key part of our strategy. We undertake our people projects with the same innovative approach as our building projects. That means considering our workspaces and the holistic wellbeing package we offer our people and their families.
We appreciate that work life is never separate from life more generally, so we provide a wide-ranging suite of wellbeing benefits to employees worldwide.
Life coaching, counselling, comprehensive health insurance, new parent services, 24/7 access to support professionals, learning platforms, and corporate discount apps are some of the services available via our Employee Care Program, a wellbeing initiative by Innovo Life. We’re adding more all the time.

It is a comprehensive offer. We make it available not just because we think our people deserve it—which we absolutely do—but also because we know that if employees and their loved ones are healthy, fit, happy, and secure, they will be at their very best at work, too.
Our commitment to employee care and wellbeing
Ours is a business with a rich history and an exciting future. We are ready to lead transformative change in our industry, and we know we can only achieve that aim by investing in our people and all aspects of their professional and personal wellbeing. I am proud to be part of a business that cares so dearly for its employees—built on three core pillars: technology, sustainability, and people. That underlines how highly we value our employees and all they bring to Innovo.
Indeed, as a business well known for its feats of construction, I’m hugely excited that we are now also well-known for our standards of employee care and wellbeing.
