Al Sharqi Shipping received Maersk’s Platinum award for the year 2017, marking their 6th straight consecutive award with Maersk Line.
The award was presented by Jyoti Tahiliani, Maersk Line head of Inside Sales and Aarti Shibu, Maersk Line account manager, to Al Sharqi Shipping at their head office.

After a successful acquisition of Hamburg Sud in 2017, Maersk Line have increased their market share of around 19% of global capacity. Beyond the merger, Maersk line has continued its digital transformation of its core business, moving customer transactions online and digitising the way assets are operated. A series of digital initiatives were launched during the year to accelerate the transformation of the industry from legacy paper-based, to digital customer-centric processes and services, enabling new product offerings improving transit time, reliability, and new services to maintain its position as a market leader in container shipping.
