Aramex, a global logistics and transportation company, announced that its board of directors have appointed Bashar Obeid, currently chief financial officer, as chief executive officer at the company, to succeed current CEO Hussein Hachem.
Obeid joined the accounting and finance team at Aramex in 1993, and has since grown into several leadership positions including the company’s financial controller, group financial controller, and finally its CFO. He was a member of the team that oversaw Aramexs public offering on the NASDAQ stock exchange and later on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).
Bashar Obeid, the newly appointed CEO, said: “I am extremely honored with this appointment. We remain focused on growing the business further and moving forward with our strategy to transform Aramex into a technology-based enterprise.”
