The Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines lifted 103.292 million riders during the first half (H1) of the year, compared with 100.558 million riders lifted during the same period 2017 year, said the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The Red Line has received 66.862 million riders, and the Green Line has accounted for 36.43 million riders. The Dubai Tram has attracted about 3.207 million riders.
The interchange stations between the Red and Green metro lines have recorded the highest number of riders, with Burjuman Station leading the way recording 6.369 million riders, followed by the Union Station which received about 5.488 million riders.
The order of the busiest stations on the Red Line has changed, with JLT Station jumping to the top, serving 5.524 million riders, ahead of Al Rigga Station (4.921 million riders), and Burj Khalifa-Dubai Mall Station (3.934 million riders). On the Green Line, Al Fahidi Station topped the list by serving 4.079 million riders, next came Baniyas Station (3.302 million riders), and followed by the Stadium Station (2.896 million riders).
Dubai Metro has accounted for the lion share of public transport ridership amounting to 37.17%, and the Dubai Tram has served 3.207 million riders during the first half of this year.
