The Government Transport Centre, a subsidiary of Emirates Transport (ET), announced it has signed 45 new transport contracts with 17 local and federal government entities during 2017.
ET is the trade-name for Emirates General Transport and Services Corporation, the UAE’s government-owned public transport provider, particularly for the government and education sectors.
The centre also renewed another 35 agreements, in the same period, with a range of durations of between one to five years, reported news agency Wam, citing a top official.
It offers transport and leasing services to various federal and local government entities, as well as a number of education institutions across the state, said Abdul Gaffar Mohammed Yousef, manager of the centre.
The total number of contracts in 2017 stood at 184, under which the centre operated more than 4,125 various vehicles, in addition to employing nearly 1,882 drivers, he added.
