Logistics giant, DHL, will deliver 47 Bombardier train sets from Sahagun, Mexico to Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The multi-year forwarding agreement covers air and ocean freight for the transportation of the trains from the Mexican fabrication site. The trains are destined for use on Riyadhs Metro Line 3, which is currently under construction.
DHLs global forwarding division will ship each train via its ocean freight network on behalf of German engineering firm, Bombardier Transportation. The project team will collect the units from production facilities in Sahagun and handle all logistics for the 14,000 km journey to the port of Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
The company will also handle last-mile delivery of the trains to the Arriyadh Development Authority, where they will be prepared for deployment.
Bombardier is a Canadian multinational aerospace and transportation company, headquartered in Montreal. DHL is a division of German logistics company Deutsche Post, the worlds largest logistics company.
