The Petroleum Institute (PI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) to conduct research on its oil and gas exploration and production in Sharjah.
The agreement aims to exchange knowledge between the PIs research team and SNOCs E&P experts and to provide Msc and PHD internship opportunities for the PI students for research purposes, among other areas of collaboration such as summer internship.
Dr Ebrahim Al Hajri, director of collaborations and external affairs, said: This MOU reflects the PIs long-standing commitment to working with world-class organizations and identifying opportunities that strengthen the UAEs human capital while helping those organizations improve their business results. We look forward to developing a rewarding and long-term partnership with the Sharjah National Oil Corporation, and working with them to ensure the UAEs oil and gas sector includes the best talent.
Hatem Al Mosa, CEO of SNOC, said: SNOC is proud to partner with the Petroleum Institute in oil and gas exploration and production research. This is aligned with SNOCs core values of People, Innovation and Continuous Improvement. This is also aligned with SNOCs social agenda of supporting higher level education and research within the UAE.
Masoud Al Hamadi, E&P Manager, said: SNOC, which operates mature gas fields in the emirate focusing on its producing assets and surface processing facilities, has now progressed to include more detailed evaluation of the subsurface away from the existing fields. Our collaboration with the Petroleum Institute will go a long way to helping deliver SNOCs E&P vision to excel in all technical disciplines such as geo-science, petroleum engineering, and R&D.
