The UAE remains the US top export destination in the entire Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for the ninth year in a row, according to the Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division at the US Department of Commerce.
In 2017, the US and the UAE conducted $24.3bn in total bilateral trade, said the bureaus report. The US exports to the UAE reached a total of $20bn in 2017 and, according to the report, they supported 119,000 American jobs. The UAE exports to the US reached a total of $4.3bn.
The US enjoyed a $15.7bn trade surplus with the UAE, the US 3rd largest globally.
With one of the most open and innovative economies in the world, the UAE is a dependable and significant economic partner of the US. Total bilateral trade doubled over the past decade, from $12.1bn in 2007 to $24.3bn last year. The UAE trades with all 50 of US states, supporting jobs across the country.
