Mohamad Ballout leads KEO’s MEP team, which includes approximately 90 dedicated MEP professionals supported by over 230 personnel from the more comprehensive design division. Key Achievements in the Last 12 Months
Over the past year, KEO has expanded globally, opening new offices in Amman, Jordan, and Lisbon, Portugal, enhancing its presence in the European market. In Saudi Arabia, KEO achieved a 40% increase in revenues and staff, securing numerous contracts for major projects such as Rua Madina, Murabba, NEOM, Qiddiyah, Diriyah Gate Development, and Roshn.
Industry recognition includes rankings as the #1 Firm in the Middle East by Building Design WA 100 2024 list for the fourth consecutive year and appearing in ENRs top 225 International Design Firms rankings for the past 20 years. KEO’s award-winning MEP projects have been recognized for various achievements, including Project of the Year at the CBNME MEP Awards and Sustainable Mixed Use Development Project of the Year for our work on the Red Sea Destination. This year, our team have been recognized as leaders in the industry through awards in categories such as Executive of the Year and Electrical and Plumbing Engineers of the Year, and MEP publications consistently rank us as one of the top MEP Consultants in the region.
Additionally, KEO has launched the KEO Academy, a rotational development program for GCC nationals that emphasizes training and mentoring in various specializations.
Major MEP Projects
KEO has delivered several notable projects over the past year, showcasing our expertise in high-quality, complex MEP projects across the region. These include the Seven Stars REDSEA Resort – The Cove in Saudi Arabia, featuring MEP design for a luxury resort; the Five Stars REDSEA Resort – The Tail Mersa in Saudi Arabia, with MEP design for luxury guest rooms and amenities; and the DAMAC Bay 1 project in Dubai, comprising MEP design for three high-rise residential towers.
Outlook for 2024
Looking ahead, KEO’s MEP team will embrace sustainability by integrating green technologies and practices such as digital twins and energy-efficient designs into projects. The firm will continue leading in digital transformation by investing in cutting-edge tools, software, and techniques. Where tools do not exist, we will continue building in-house applications that meet the industry’s needs.
The MEP team is scheduled to grow by approximately 15% in 2024. The KEO Academy, mentorship programs, external training certifications, and professional development opportunities will support talent acquisition and development.
