Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada), in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), has started work of two kindergarten units being set up at a total value of over AED85mn.
The projects will boast a total built-up area of 11,000sqm at Al Falah area being developed as Package One of Phase Eight of Abu Dhabi Future Schools Programme (ADFSP), reported state news agency Wam, citing senior officials.
“The work on both the projects is progressing as per schedule,” stated Saleh Al Ali, the education portfolio director at Musanadas Building Construction Management division. “This is being developed as part of Musanadas efforts to contribute to achievement of the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan, by engaging in preparing and upbringing of a promising generation with the necessary knowledge tools to take part in serving the country and the community, and enabling students by sharpening their skills and capabilities to enhance their innovation competences.”
According to him, Musanada was keen on observing environmental sustainability requirements and preserving multiple energy sources. Al Ali said: “Both these projects have attained the Two-Pearl sustainability rating stipulated by the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities. This rating is meant for buildings that enhance efficiency of energy use. The emphasis was also on that all the materials and equipment used should be compliant with the latest sustainability specifications.”
Al Ali said the scope of work includes construction and completion of two kindergarten units at Al Falah area. The first school, which boasts a built-up area of 5,000sqm, is being set up at an investment of AED44.4mn. It comprises a ground-floor building that consists of 18 classrooms accommodating 360 male and female students, in addition to an administration building, a students rest lobby, offices for teaching and administrative staff, outdoor playgrounds, landscapes and car and bus parking bays.
The second kindergarten is also being constructed at Al Falah area, comprising a ground-floor building that consists of 18 classrooms accommodating 360 male and female students, in addition to an administration building, a students rest lobby, offices for teachers, outdoor playgrounds, landscapes and parking bays. The built-up area is estimated to be 5,000sqm with a total value of approximately AED40.6mn.
Al Ali pointed out that Musanada plans to hand over both the kindergartens to the client later this year in December.
