Abu Dhabi City Municipality is working on two key infrastructure projects in co-ordination with Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) at Al Rahba city, being developed at an estimated cost of AED452mn.
These projects are part of the strategic plans of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities aimed at improving the infrastructure of Abu Dhabi city and suburban areas, reported state news agency Wam.
The plans are focused on cities experiencing rising growth rates, which is in line with Abu Dhabi Governments vision for enhancing the sustainability in the construction of modern infrastructure to ensure their compliance with the highest international standards, it stated.
Through these two projects, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality intends to establish an ideal platform that helps to stimulate population and economic growth and provide service amenities that meet the essential needs of residents and service residential plots at Al Rahba city.
The development and improvement of infrastructure in Abu Dhabi demonstrate the commitment of Abu Dhabi City Municipality to serving the needs of development in emerging cities such as having an infrastructure compatible with the population and economic growth of the city, said the Wam report.
After the completion of the two projects, the area will be a perfect place for living and stability as it will have the services needed for the comfort and happiness of residents, it stated.
Work at the two projects comprises the construction of internal roads network including landfill and levelling to comply with the pre-design level to serve the basic purpose of this residential project. It also includes the relocation of some infrastructure services such as power lines, small sub-stations and sewage & drinking water networks.
Geographically, the two projects are being built at Al Rahba city, 30 km from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The first project serves 519 residential land plots. The scope of work covers the construction of internal roads and infrastructure of Al Rahba city, while the second project, being developed at a cost of AED292mn, will serve 671 residential plots.
The project works include internal roads, rainwater, drainage and drinking water networks, extension of power cables, 36 power substations, sewage network including the main drainage line and a sewage station, all expected to be completed by the end of June.
