ACES Muscat has recently been awarded the geotechnical investigation for the Port of Salalah GCT Redevelopment Project in Salalah, Oman.
The proposed port development comprises various elements of onshore and marine works, including expanding the port facilities by the construction of additional berths and the upgrade/redevelopment of existing berths.
ACES Muscat scope of work in the project includes drilling of 28 offshore boreholes to depths ranging from 5-44m below seabed level, drilling of 47 onshore boreholes to depths ranging from 8-70m, geophysical testing using P-S log and seismic refraction, in addition to extensive laboratory testing on collected samples and preparing an interpretative geotechnical report.
The owner of the project is the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the clients are Rambolls and Simon Engineering and Partners.
