AG Engineering, a specialised building services and infrastructure projects company, has been awarded the British Safety Council’s Sword of Honour, in recognition of its rigorous application of Health and Safety practices in the workplace. AG Engineering is the only construction company established in the Middle East to receive this prestigious accolade, and one of only 66 organisations worldwide.
In order to ensure worker welfare and mitigate health and safety risks, AG Engineering implements robust processes and training to uphold the highest standards of quality, health, safety and environmental protection. As part of Al Ghurair Investment, AG Engineering aims to enhance life in all that it does, equipping staff with the tools, resources and know-how to protect themselves, their colleagues and the safety culture is a key element of this. The award follows British Safety Council’s health and safety management audit, for which AG Engineering achieved the maximum five stars.
Commenting on the milestone achievement, AG Engineering CEO, Jacob John, said: “At AG Engineering, we pride ourselves on a people-first approach and ensuring the wellbeing of our people is our highest priority. To be the first construction company in the region to receive the Sword of Honour is testament to our continual efforts to implement robust health and safety standards throughout our projects. This honour is only possible thanks to our employees’ commitment to best practices, and we are pleased that their efforts have been recognised by the British Safety Council.”
Lawrence Waterman, Chairman of the British Safety Council, said: “On behalf of the board of trustees and staff of the British Safety Council I would like to congratulate AG Engineering on achieving the topmost standards of health, safety and environmental management. Accomplishing such distinction takes real commitment and professionalism. We are delighted to have supported you in your achievements in what has been an unprecedented year given the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, added: “I would like to congratulate AG Engineering for their steadfast dedication to keeping their workplace safe and healthy and/or minimising risks to the environment from their organisations’ day-to-day activities.
