HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced the completion of 65% of the development project of Al Qudra Street intersection with Lehbab Street, from a separate intersection to a bridge intersection providing free traffic in all directions, to enhance the flow of traffic on Al Qudra and Wahbab Streets.
The latter is considered as a strategic hub within the structural plan of the road network implemented by the Authority, as an alternative road for drivers wishing to go to Expo Street, Jebel Ali Industrial Area and adjacent areas as well as heading to the capital Abu Dhabi and vice versa without having to enter the city center. Lyra that the percentage of achievement in the bridges reached 70%, while the percentage of completion of a bicycle bridge amounted to approximately 90%, and the expected completion of all work at the end of the year 2019.
The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors, explained that the expansion and development of Al Qudra Street is one of the strategic projects, which aims to provide a main axis starting from the Jumeirah area through Umm Suqeim Street, which was developed by building two bridges with a capacity of three lanes in each direction, the first bridge over the parallel road Al-Sharqiyah (Al-Asayel Street), and the second above the western parallel road (the first Al-Khail Street).
