Arcadis has chosen Mario Pishiri as their new city executive for Dubai, as part of the firms successful cities programme. In this new role, Pishiri will focus on bringing the very best of Arcadis local and global expertise to help clients in Dubai meet a wide range of urban goals, that will enable the city to achieve the vision set out within the Dubai Plan 2021.
With over 35 years of engineering experience, including 20 years living and working in Dubai, Pishiri brings an excellent blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to the city executive position. As part of his current and previous roles within Arcadis, he has been responsible for the growth and performance of the wider UAE business, and is very familiar with the urban agenda in Dubai.
This includes embracing innovation and technology, improving mobility, building greater resilience through smart utility networks, designing well-connected urban developments in new parts of the city, and regenerating older areas.
Dr Kamiran Ibrahim, CEO, Arcadis Middle East, added: The leaders of Dubai have made a strong and clear commitment to innovation as they seek to develop a smart and sustainable city over the coming years. Achieving these goals will require first-class delivery partners who understand the city, but who can also think holistically and tap into ideas from around the world. The cities programme provides a perfect platform in which to showcase the very best of Arcadis, and I wish Mario every success in his new role.
Pishiri said: The development of Dubai over the last 15-20 years has been incredibly impressive and reflects the visionary leadership within the emirate. As it continues to evolve into one of the worlds leading cities, it now faces a different set of challenges. I look forward to drawing upon our global expertise to help develop first-class solutions that address some of these issues, and which ultimately help to improve quality of life for the people who live in, work in, or visit this unique city.
