Engineering Contracting Company (ECC) has obtained a contract for a multi-storey car park project opposite Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), containing approximately 2,800 parking spaces.
The diverse contracting company will be working on the car park with McLaren construction, which began in March 2017. The project is expected to take up to 12 months to achieve completion and will take a built-up area 89,000 sqm.
The project aims to reduce congestion and provide easier access to visitors, and, upon its completion, will contain a number of features that will help visitors take advantage of its unique location. The finished five-storey car park will have two helicopter pads and offer VIP access, in addition to hosting multiple large scale external LED advertising screens.
ECC has more than 7,000 highly qualified team members and an extensive supply chain, which allows it to deliver projects on time and fulfills the expectation of the employer, authorities and other stakeholders.
Commenting on the joint-venture project, Kareem Farah, director and COO, ECC, said: We are pleased to working with McLaren on our first multi-storey car park project, adding to the long list of diverse projects we have undertaken across our 42-year history in the UAE. Innovatively designed by Parsons Architecture, this project is centrally located in Dubai, providing millions of visitors from around the world easy access to renowned events, conferences, and exhibitions.
Farah added: Visitors to DWTC and surrounding venues can soon expect improved access and reduced congestion, especially around high profile events, as the new project contributes to the ongoing development of infrastructure in the area.
