Dubai Municipality announced that it will take up developmental maintenance work for AED76mn during 2018.
Eng Jabir Ahmed Al Ali, director of General Maintenance Department at the Municipality said that the department is currently implementing a number of development projects in the buildings and facilities of the Municipality and some other government buildings and facilities in accordance with the budget approved for the current year.
He added that these development projects are very important projects and that the department is keen to implement these projects according to the latest technical specifications applied globally and locally, in which all sustainability standards will be implemented.
The most important of these projects are the refurbishments of a number of public schools in Dubai, maintenance of a number of major sports clubs in the emirate, renovation of a number of the Sheikh Rashid mosques in the city of Kalba in the eastern region, as well as setting up facilities in the service centers and offices for the People of Determination, and the rationalisation of energy in the service centers and offices using the latest smart systems.
He continued: In addition to that, the Department has also taken up a number of projects that contribute to maintaining the aesthetic appearance and creating a comfortable working environment for Municipality employees in order to achieve the requirements of happiness to them, and a number of projects that contribute to achieve the requirements of public safety and safety.
He added that the General Maintenance Department at Dubai Municipality has developed a plan for the implementation of these projects according to the approved timetables and work has already been started for some of these projects at the end of the previous year and are being completed.
Al Ali noted that the supervision of the implementation of these projects is carried out by specialists and engineers in coordination with the beneficiaries and maintenance and contracting companies approved by the Municipality.
