Master developer Nakheel has received the ISO 27001 standard recertification for Information Security Management, with its in-house IT team managing the accreditation process in a record time of just two months.
The recertification awarded to Nakheel by the Dubai Accreditation Centre reinforces the companys continued commitment to managing the security of assets and adhering to best international practices, said the statement.
With ISO 27001, Nakheel can protect its information by assessing risks and implementing controls to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets. The developer is one of the first IT divisions in the governments medium and high-risk categories to receive the certification from the Dubai Accreditation Centre.
The company managed and completed the entire process in-house in around eight weeks. On average, the process normally takes around six months.
Ahmed Ebrahim AlAhmad, Nakheels chief information officer, said: It took tremendous effort, dedication, and teamwork to achieve ISO 27001, which benefits all of our stakeholders and reinforces our commitment to best practices. I am immensely proud of the teams from IT and other departments who worked together to make
this happen so quickly and smoothly.
The ISO 27001 accreditation joins a string of other IT-related certificates and awards for Ahmed and his team, including the Catalyst 2018 CIO in Real Estate and Construction accolade and CIO100 Award, among others.
