Dubai Properties (DP) is close to beefing up its affordable housing portfolio with the addition of 18 new buildings in Dubailand available for lease.
Construction progress on the new buildings in Remraam, consisting of 1,441 units, has reached 90 percent and will be handed over by the fourth quarter of 2017 along with a second community centre.
Dubai Properties has previously handed over 60 buildings at the Remraam development, it said in a statement.
Dubai Municipality has proposed a law that will make it mandatory for 15-20 percent affordable housing in future residential developments.

The new community centre at Remraam aims to amplify the existing offering and the community will also feature both a school and nursery, with construction of the nursery already underway.
