Dubai-based cable products provider, Ducab, has broken ground on its new global headquarters building in Jebel Ali.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Eng Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, chairman of Ducab; Dr Ahmad bin Hassan Al Shaikh, Vice chairman of Ducab; Mabkhoot Al Menhali, board member; and Andrew Shaw, managing director alongside Richard Beard, managing director of Ramboll Middle East and Asia; and John E. Alford, group managing director Jasaf Building Technology Company.
The new headquarters will be environmentally responsive, built to achieve a Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification when completed in 2019. The three-storey headquarters facility will have a total built-up area of 4,053 sqm, with a roof deck garden.
Alongside its commitment to environmental conservatism, the company will echo the areas indigenous plantlife by creating a tree plantation alongside the facility inspired by the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed
bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was an avid environmentalist.
