Emrill Services, the multi-award winning UAE-based integrated facilities management provider, has announced the appointment of a new CEO and CFO.
The firm’s previous technical director, Stuart Harrison, has been promoted to chief executive officer, effective immediately, and will be based at Emrill’s Dubai head office.
Harrison’s appointment is a result of his proven track record in delivering all aspects of facilities management within the UK and UAE. He has held technical, operations and senior business roles across a diverse range of sectors, including critical environments, such as hospitals and healthcare.
Harrison has over 27 years of local and international experience. He joined Emrill in 2014 as solutions director. His achievements include leading the Business Development and Work Winning departments during a significant period of growth and the Centre of Excellence Department, which provides technical training and support to operations. Harrison was appointed technical director in 2017 to further drive technical excellence. While in this role, Harrison gained Emrill’s accreditation to the NICEIC Middle East Scheme in record time and Emrill won the 2017 and 2018 Facilities Management Middle East Engineering Initiative of the Year award.
Harrison said: “I am thrilled to take on this new challenge. Emrill is the region’s leading facilities management company and, as such, is well-positioned for continued and sustainable growth. Our focus will remain on delivering service excellence and strengthening our value partnerships with existing clients, while forging new relationships within the industry.
“Innovation is at the core of what we do, and we will continue to challenge industry standards by investing in new technologies to increase efficiencies. We will of course also continue to invest in our people, without whom we would not be as successful as we are today.”
Harrison replaces Alex Davies, who had been Emrill’s managing director since 2016. Davies stepped down from Emrill to pursue other opportunities.
Harrison holds an MSc in Global Management and is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He was the first facilities management professional in the GCC to achieve accreditation in the new world-class ISO 55001 Asset Management Standards through Bureau Veritas.
Also announced was the appointment of Sam Emery as Emrill’s new chief financial officer. Emery joined the company in 2014 as finance director. As part of Emrill’s executive leadership team, she has been instrumental in identifying, evaluating and contributing to productivity, performance and operational excellence. During her time at Emrill, Emery has implemented robust internal controls, governance, more effective cash flow and working capital management.
Emery said: “It’s a real honour to receive this promotion. I look forward to building on the significant progress we have already made, further positioning Emrill for profitable and sustainable growth. Emrill has a talented and experienced management team and tremendous potential for further efficiency and driving international best practice within the region.”
Emery is a qualified ACA accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. With over ten years of international experience, Emery has a business focus on achieving financial performance, continuous improvement, adding value and developing people.
As an industry leader, Emrill helps organisations shape environments and create great places to live, work and visit while achieving their commercial goals through providing a range of highly effective FM solutions.
