Etihad Rail has announced the travel times for its passenger trains throughout the UAE after the successful completion of the first Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference.
The travel time from Abu Dhabi to Dubai is set at 57 minutes, while the trip to Al Ruwais will take 70 minutes, with Al Ruwais located 240 km from the capital. Furthermore, the journey from Abu Dhabi to the eastern emirate of Fujairah will take 105 minutes.
By 2050, Etihad Rail is expected to contribute AED 200 billion to the UAE’s economy. The network will improve connectivity between industrial hubs, ports, and neighboring markets, enhancing trade flow and supporting growth in sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, and construction.
The project will further solidify the UAE’s role as a global logistics and trade hub, with faster and more reliable transport links between key international markets. It will ultimately connect 11 cities and regions throughout the UAE. Furthermore, the project is set to carry 36 million passengers each year by 2030.
This ambitious national railway project, spanning 1,200 kilometers, is designed to reshape freight and passenger transport across the Emirates, connecting industrial hubs, ports, and cities while linking the UAE to the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) railway system.
