HOK has been selected to design Kuwait Universitys new College of Architecture and College of Computing Sciences and Engineering buildings at the Sabah Al-Salem University City campus at Shadadiyah.
Totaling 477,000 square feet, these buildings will complete the initial build-out of the 64.6 million sq ft. Sabah Al-Salem Kuwait University City campus, which was decreed in 2004 and is southwest of Kuwait City.
Located on opposite ends of the site, the buildings will form new gateways at the western and eastern ends of the academic campus.
HOKs previous involvement as a consultant on the campus master plan has enabled us to maintain and advance the plans principles in the design of the individual buildings, said Daniel Hajjar, managing principal for HOKs London office.
Our goal is to create an aspirational educational environment that will inspire and enrich Kuwaits next generation of leaders and make a positive contribution to its society. We look forward to working with our partners, KEO International Consultants, to successfully design and deliver this project on one of the worlds largest university campuses.
HOKs previous design projects in Kuwait City include the 42-story Central Bank of Kuwait Headquarters and the 52-story Crystal Tower.
