Kuwait government has awarded a major operation and management contract to Korea’s Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) for its new Terminal Four (T4), reported state news agency Kuna.
The IICA deal was part of the government’s desire to seek partnerships with international companies specialised in civil aviation.
Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) said as per the agreement, the IIAC will operate, manage, maintain, and develop the new Terminal Four (T4) at Kuwait International Airport.
The T4, which is being specified for the national carrier Kuwait Airways, is set to start its operations within the next three months, it stated.
As per the deal, the Korean company will transfer knowledge and expertise besides providing training to Kuwaiti youth on airport management.
The T4, which has 14 gates, aims to reduce the traffic on the current terminal. It has been designed to contain 4.5 million passengers per year, the report added.
