In line with the “Dubai Digital Strategy” launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, with the vision of wise leadership to make Dubai a global model for digital transformation, The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporration signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Oracle during its participation in GITEX Global 2024, aiming to achieve a flexible and seamless digital transformation in the PCFC’ systems and services infrastructure to support partners, clients, and employees alike.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Saeed Al-Banai, Executive Director of Corporate Support Services at the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation and Leopoldo Boado Lama, senior vice president – Business Applications, ECEMEA at Oracle, the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite will serve as a significant platform towards enhancing business effectiveness and improving operational efficiency by transforming financial management, human resources management, and procurement processes within the PCFC into an advanced digital experience, which ultimately enhances employee experience while reducing costs and time overall.
With Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), PCFC has been able to leverage built-in AI capabilities to accelerate invoice processing and reduce its monthly financial close duraton. Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) has enabled PFCFC to better analyse workforce data and improve employee experience, while Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) has streamlined supplier operations and increased procurement transparency to create a more resilient supply chain.
In this context, Al-Bannai emphasized that the UAE is one of the fastest-growing cloud service markets in the world. Therefore, the PCFC has decided to keep pace with the accelerated adoption of cloud services and leverage the innovative solutions resulting from it, including achieving the highest levels of flexibility, efficiency, and security, as well as accessing the latest digital technologies such as artificial intelligence. This is part of its efforts to facilitate and enhance economic transformation in Dubai through innovative processes, regulations, and digital solutions that ensure sustainable business activities, reinforcing the Emirate’s leading position on the global trade map.
Al-Bannai also lauded the vital role played by the Oracle Fusion Applications’ unified cloud platform in supporting the PCFC strategy to enhance efficiency and flexibility, improve data quality, and accelerate processes through a high-value, fully integrated unified platform. This initiative is overseen and managed by the PCFC Information Technology Department in collaboration with Oracle to provide cloud services.
