PCFC’s projects align with the goals of Dubai Economic Agenda D33
In line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance Dubai’s global stature and provide an integrated digital experience in customs and security operations, the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) announced the launch of 10 pioneering projects during its participation at GITEX Global 2024.
H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation and Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, stated, “Dubai Economic Agenda D33 has set several targets to boost Dubai’s external trade and create opportunities in key and emerging sectors such as trade and logistics. Our new projects at GITEX Global 2024 align with these goals by providing a unique and exceptional customs experience that addresses the needs of our customers and reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence. These projects will streamline customs processes, reduce inspection times, and simplify port and free zone entry applications, thereby enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness”.
Bin Sulayem added, “We are confident that these pioneering initiatives will facilitate trade, lower costs, and reduce customer time, further bolstering Dubai’s pivotal role in global trade and increasing its global competitiveness”.
On the first day of the exhibition, H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of PCFC, along with H.E. Dr. Abdullah Busnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, launched the “Tasreeh” digital gateway. This AI-powered smart security platform utilizes digital permit scanning to facilitate the entry of individuals and businesses into Dubai’s ports and free zones. Additionally, the Smart Customer Service Platform project was unveiled.
Commenting on the occasion, Al Neyadi stated, “We are presenting the world with a unique model of future services and solutions that exceed expectations in both the security and customs sectors. The ‘Tasreeh’ project reflects our commitment to innovation by implementing comprehensive and integrated security solutions that meet our customers’ expectations and deliver a seamless, flexible experience for the entry of individuals and businesses into the ports and free zones under our jurisdiction in Dubai. The digital enhancement of the project has reduced the processing time for security gate passage from over five minutes to mere seconds”.
Al Neyadi, accompanied by Busnad, also launched the “Seamless Inspection” project for Dubai Customs, a groundbreaking development in customs inspection operations. This project allows importers and businesses to conduct inspections directly at their warehouse locations, eliminating the need for traditional inspection points.
Speaking about the “Seamless Inspection” project, Al Neyadi explained that it would bring about a fundamental change in customs inspection operations through innovation and development, enabling companies to conduct inspections on-site. This will allow traders to meet global demand more efficiently and flexibly, supporting global supply chains.
He further noted that by streamlining procedures through the integrated inspection system, Dubai’s commercial sector will be able to attract both foreign and domestic investments by expanding the operations of leading companies already present in the local market, thus supporting sustainable development, as the commercial sector is one of the key pillars supporting the national economy.
Among the other digital projects launched by Dubai Customs during the exhibition were: the Customs Journey, the “Shahin” project, “Al Munasiq,” the K9 Sustainable Vehicle, the “Octa” project, the Warehouse Platform, and the Inspector Smart Training Program.
The Corporation’s Stand at GITEX provides visitors the opportunity to explore these new projects firsthand, experience them in action, and learn about the available services and the innovative technologies supporting them.
