Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract to complete the widening of Seih Assalam Road from a single lane into a dual-carriageway.
It covers a section extending about 21 km from Al Qudra roundabout up to the intersection of Dubai – Al Ain Road, at a cost of about AED178mn ($48.5mn), said HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA.
Works will include constructing nine roundabouts, four crossings for camels & horses, a cycling track, service roads and car parks besides broadening the existing parking lot of the Dubai International Endurance City.
Project works also include street lights, the rainwater drainage network, and a rail to prevent casual U-turns.
Early this year, the RTA opened Phase I of the Dual Carriageway of Seih Assalam Road extending 12 km from Bab Al Shams Hotel and Dubai International Endurance City up to Al Qudra roundabout nearby the Cycling Rest Area.
