City Centre Sharjah is set to elevate the shopping and entertainment experience for tourists and residents in the emirate as it enters the final phase of redevelopment in October.
The AED260mn revamp of the mall that is owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim the shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia is 75% of the way towards completion, and visitors can look forward to an array of exciting retail and leisure additions, including a 12-screen, high-tech VOX Cinemas multiplex.
The citys holistic shopping and entertainment destination will expand to include 30 new lifestyle stores, many more F&B options, and leisure activities for a great time out with the family every day. And for stress-free parking, City Centre Sharjah will also be expanding the parking lot by adding 700 spaces.
Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, managing director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Shopping Malls (UAE, Bahrain, and Oman), said: Majid Al Futtaim wants to offer residents and tourists much more than shopping. As the expectations of our discerning customers evolve, so do our offerings to meet those demands. The new lifestyle stores and dining options will offer a much wider variety to meet different tastes of visitors, right from the youth to families looking for a great time out.
The new City Centre Sharjah will merge world-class retail with the best entertainment options, as well. We are particularly excited to be bringing VOX Cinemas, the Middle Easts most innovative cinema to the mall, which will offer unparalleled entertainment experiences, with tailored viewing options for a memorable moviegoing experience for everyone, from kids to adults. City Centre Sharjah is going to become the new exciting community hub in the Emirate, creating great moments for everyone, every day.”
The redevelopment is part of owner-operator Majid Al Futtaims planned AED30bn investment in the UAE by 2026. As well as investing in existing assets, the company plans to open 10 malls, 28 cinemas, and 40 Carrefour hypermarkets by late 2020. A residential initiative, gated community Al Zahia, will span more than a million square metres and is being developed jointly with the Sharjah government.
Our repositioning of City Centre Sharjah reflects our commitment and investment in the Northern Emirates planned over the next few years, as we aim to contribute to bolstering the economy and tourism of the UAE with our world-class retail and leisure offerings, added Sharaf.
